General Objectives
The
Bangalore Whitehead Conference 2009 aims at bringing together scholars from all
over the world to exchange their views and reviews, to pool their research
activities and findings, and to share their expertise and experiences, inspired
by the process philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead, mathematician, philosopher
of science and metaphysician.
Specific Objectives
- To discover the “strains” of process
philosophy in Indian thought.
- To offer process models of co-existence for
the multi-linguistic, multi-ethnic, and multi-cultural societies of India.
- To seek new paradigms, based on Whitehead’s
philosophy of organism, for strengthening the spirit of inter-religious
dialogue.
- To merge the boundaries of philosophy,
science and religion though inter-disciplinary studies.
- To enhance co-operation among
faculties/institutions engaged in research and applications of process
thought.
- To contribute to the advance of
thought/science for the welfare of society through co-operative efforts and
research projects.
